Cloth Wipes Solution

I LOVE cloth diapers! I also enjoy saving money! Here is a cloth wipes solution for you to use if you decide you don't want to spend big $$ on wipes. I use disposable wipes still, especially for outings and big poo blowouts, but these are very easy to just throw in my wet bag and wash with the cloth diapers. (Not to mention, these are products I already had, so I didn't have to buy extra stuff to make this solution).

Here's what you'll need:
2 tablespoons baby oil
2 tablespoons baby wash or shampoo
1 1/2 cups water
Wipes storage container or spray bottle
Baby washcloths

Here's how:
Mix the three ingredients and pour over your wipes. They will be pre-soaked and ready to wipe those little buns right up.

Or, pour the solution into a spray bottle and simple spray on the washcloth when ready to wipe!

  1. This is the exact "recipe" for wipes that I used when my boys were younger...but I would cut a roll of bounty paper towels in half, place in a rubbermaid container, then pour the solution in...disposable wipes

  2. We make our own solution too, but wanted to avoid the shampoo etc, so we use camomile tea with a splash of olive oil. It works brilliantly - no nappy rash and no chemicals. For the wipe itself we have terry squares (squares cut from a cloth diaper) and they just get washed with the nappies, or for those we take out we buy the huggies cotton sheets (wipes that are dry, they're new this year in the UK) so that they can be binned whilst we're out.

  3. Baby oil is really bad for cloth diapers,it causes repelling. I use coconut oil and it works great.
